Value of Latvia's exports of goods increased by 42.9% in H1
Compared to the same period last year, in the first six months of the year 2010 the total value of Latvia's exports of goods increased by 42.9% or LVL 180.43 million, Talis Kravalis, Director of the State Revenue Service's Customs Board, told reporters yesterday.
The total value of goods exported from Latvia in the first six months was LVL 600.72 million, informed Kravalis. These primarily included wood and woodwork with statistical value of LVL 63.5 million, followed by beverages, alcoholic beverages and vinegar, which form 9.9% of the exported goods and their statistical value is LVL 59.5 million, as well as iron and steel, which form 9.3% of the total amount of exported goods and have a statistical value of LVL 56.1 million, writes LETA.
Russia, Norway and Belarus are the countries to which the bulk of Latvia's export of goods go, although most of these goods are still exported to Russia, informed Kravalis.
According to Kravalis, in the first half of this year 37,564 export declarations have been submitted to the Revenue Service. Compared to the same period last year, that is by 10,112 declarations or 36.8% more.
