Free economic zone “Grodnoinvest” is located on the territory of the Grodno Region. It is represented by separate sites in Grodno City and Grodno Region with total area of 2187.83 ha. FEZ “Grodnoinvest” was established in April, 2002. It includes 44 residing companies from 18 countries. 

 

Currently, the Grodno free economic zone residing companies are employed in many sectors. A special progress can be seen in the field of woodworking industry, machine-building and metal working, construction material producing industry, light, food, chemical and petrochemical industries.

 

Among the most successful investment projects having been implemented within the frameworks of the FEZ is manufacturing of flexoprinted multilayer polyamide heat-resistant sausage casing arranged at JV “Brigan” CJSC with participation of American funds. The company manufactures products substituting imported ones and is the only producer of flexoprinted sausage casing in Belarus. Nowadays, JV “Brigan” CJSC meets requirements of domestic market in this kind of products at the rate of 45%.

 

One of the largest investment projects, which started last year, is presented by “Grodnorayagroservice” JSC. The enterprise manufactures products for plants protection. “Grodnorayagroservice” JSC has planned to obtain $8 mln. as investments by 2010.
