Production operation and realization of a wide stock of manufactured meat. The meat processing enterprise is one of the leading sectors of agribusiness industry of the Republic of Belarus. 380 business entity of various status, technical equipment, specialization, including 26 meat-processing plants are specialized on live-stock dressing and manufacturing facility of processed meat products in the republic. OJSC «Mogilev meat-processing plant» is one of the largest enterprises in the meat industry in Belarus. It was founded in 1905 as a town slaughterhouse. All making of processing live-stock dressing and slaughter products were carried out in manual way. The plant didn’t have hot water, electricity and it wasn’t equipped with cold storage. Live-stock dressing didn’t pass 20 cattle per day. In 1913 the plant was reconstructed and equipped ice-salt cold storage unit, it’s working capacity was increased to 5 tons of meat per day. In 1922 a sausage manufacturing room was built with a working capacity up to 1 ton of workpiece per duty call. During the pre-war five-year plans, the plant constantly increased its volume of production and in 1940 it produced 10 tons of meat and produced 2 tons of sausage products per duty call. During the war, the plant was completely destroyed. The reclamation of the plant began after the liberation of Mogilev in June 1944. And in 1950 –1953 new manufacturing building have already been built and put in commission with installed working capacity per duty call: meat – 20 tons, sausage products – 4 tons, poultry meat – 5 tons. A cold storage unit with a working capacity of 20 tons of meat freezing per day and 1000 tons of one-time storing built. During the years from 1959 to 1965 a number of technical and organizational measures were taken to increase working capacity of the enterprise. Due to the internal reconstruction more than 1000 square meters of working area was vacated abattoir block and sausage manufacturing room were converted. On the same spacing without the construction of new buildings working capacity were increased for the manufacture of meat from 20 to 50 tons, sausage products from 4 to 8 tons per duty call, daily freezing meat from 20 to 40 tons. During this period 15 new combined production system and more than 440 units of new high-performance equipment were put into practice. The inventors and innovators of the plant heavily into technical re-equipping of production. A new stage of renewal and extension of plant was from 1966 to 1970. Due to the renewal, the working capacity of the cold storage unit was increased by a factor of 3 and amount of 100 tons of daily freezing and 3000 tons of one-tine storing. In 1969 – 1970 the renewal and extension of the sausage manufacturing room was carried out, as a result its working capacity increased from 8 to 12 sausage products per duty call. As a result, the volume of production increased by a factor of 2,9 production rate increased by 34 per cent and gate doubled. «Mogilev meat processing plant» was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor for the successful fulfillment of an assignment year industrial plan and the achievement of high technical and economical index, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 6 in 1971. The plant elaborated 160 – 170 tons of meat per day, including 7 tons of poultry meat, 40 tons of sausage products, 3 tons of dumplings, 15 tons of semi-finished products, 8 tons of vegetable fodder and 7 tons of alimentarius dripping during the period from 1971 to 1975. The volume of production increased by 46,6 per cent, production rate increased by 27 per cent and gate increased by 44 per cent from 1971 to 1975. Much attention was paid to increasing production standards and quality enhancing of manufacturing range. Combined system of product quality control was developed at the plant and it was approved by the basic plant for the implementation of this system at the meat processing plants of the republic. 16 types of production were awarded the quality mark, and the plant was awarded the honorary title of an enterprise of high production culture. The plant manufactures more than 300 tons of alimentary and technical products of 156 name of production per day during the period from 1978 to 1983. 1,5 thousand people operated at the plant. Its area was 27 hectares. In the 70s and 80s the factory personnel of the «Mogilev meat-processing plant» was awarded certificates and diplomas of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet and Council of Ministers of the USSR more than once. The plan for the commercial output was exceed the target by 106,7 per cent. At the beginning of the 90s, the «Mogilev meat-processing plant» manufactured 12 thousand tons of sausage products, 23 thousand tons of beef, 14 thousand tons of pork, 8 thousand tons of semi-finished meat products and 2 thousand tons of packed meat per year. The number of people employed was 1,5 thousand people. After the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991 and the disruption of traditional economic ties (while maintaining the former administrative and command methods of management), recessionary trends began to be observed in the meat and milk-producing industry, that results in significant decline volume of production and increased in ex-factory price of manufacture products. Thus, the «Mogilev meat-processing plant» manufactured 15 thousand tons of meat and flesh by products, 8 thousand tons of sausage products and 5 thousand tons of semi-finished meat products. Such a significant decline volume of production (more than 2 times in comparison with 1991) is due to not only live-stock reduction in collective farm and government-run cooperative in the region, but also increased in ex-factory price off manufacture products at meat-processing plant as a result of determination overstated procurement price for meat in the republic in comparison with world prices. The «Mogilev meat-processing plant» was registered on 30 January, 2002 as OJSC «Mogilev meat-processing plant». The Committee on Agriculture and Food of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee is the government body which authorized to operative the individual assets. OJSC «Mogilev meat-processing plant» is separate entity with right of a legal person, exercise powers and fulfil responsibility, provided to it by the Law of the Republic of Belarus «On Enterprises in the Republic of Belarus». Nowadays OJSC «Mogilev meat-processing plant» is modern enterprise with significant working capacity and high-end professionals. The enterprise is working on strengthening of relations with raw materials base on the one hand, and the trading network on the other. The product rationalization is ramping up, new modern equipment is being integrated, technological processes are being improved, the culture of manufacturing is being raised and better conditions are being created for highly workforce productivity.
