Coat of arms: the emblem is an image of shanyrak, the upper dome-like portion of a yurt, against a sky blue background which irradiates (in the form of sun rays) uyks (supports) set off by wings of mythical horses, inspired by Tulpar which represent bravery. The circle shape of the Emblem is a symbol of a life and eternity. The shanyrak symbolizes well-being of family, peace and calmness.

The colour version of the national emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan consists of two colours: gold and sky blue. The golden colour corresponds to a light, clear future of Kazakh people, and the blue sky colour is a symbol of aspiration to the peace, consent, friendship and unity with all people.

Flag: the national flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan has a gold sun with 32 rays above a soaring golden steppe eagle, both centered on a sky blue background; the hoist side displays a national ornamental pattern «koshkar-muiz» (the horns of the ram) in gold; the blue color is of religious significance to the Turkic peoples of the country, and so symbolizes cultural and ethnic unity; it also represents the endless sky as well as water; the sun, a source of life and energy, exemplifies wealth and plenitude; the sun's rays are shaped like grain, which is the basis of abundance and prosperity; the eagle has appeared on the flags of Kazakh tribes for centuries and represents freedom, power, and the flight to the future. The width of the flag to its length is 1:2.

 
  • Anthem: «Meniń Qazaqstanym» is the national anthem of Kazakhstan, adopted on 7 January 2006. It is based on a homonymous song written in 1956 composed by Shamshi Kaldayakov and written by Jumeken Najimedenov.
  • Official languages: Kazakh, Russian.
  • Geographical location: it is the world's largest landlocked country. Kazakhstan shares borders with Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, and also adjoins a large part of the Caspian Sea.
  • Administrative divisions: Kazakhstan is divided into fourteen regions. The regions are subdivided into 177 districts.

  • Governance: Kazakhstan is a unitary republic. The Prime Minister chairs the Cabinet of Ministers and serves as Kazakhstan's head of government. There are three deputy prime ministers and sixteen ministers in the Cabinet. Kazakhstan has a bicameral Parliament composed of the Majilis (the lower house) and Senate (the upper house). There are local and regional level courts, and a national-level Supreme Court.

Trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Kazakhstan

The Republic of Belarus provides a national treatment for goods from the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the Free Trade Area Agreement of October 18, 2011 and the Treaty of the Eurasian Economic Union of May 29, 2014.

In terms of Belarusian exports, Kazakhstan is among the ten main partners of the Republic of Belarus and is the third among the CIS countries (after Russia and Ukraine).

At the end of 2020, foreign trade turnover amounted to $847.9 million and decreased compared to 2019 by 7.8 percent. Belarusian exports amounted to $747.1 million (a decrease of 2.4 percent), imports — $100.8 million (a decrease of 34.9 percent). The surplus is $646.3 million.

The volume of foreign trade in services in 2020 amounted to $149.4 million and decreased by 16.4 percent compared to the level of 2019. Exports of services amounted to $100.5 million and decreased by 25.2 percent, imports — $48.9 million, an increase of 10.4 percent. The surplus is $51.7 million.

In 2020, the volume of Kazakhstani investments in the Belarusian economy amounted to $100.4 million (8.2 times growth), of which direct investments were $4.6 million (2.5 times decrease), including direct investments on a net basis — $3.4 million (decreased by 16.0 percent).

The distribution network of Belarusian enterprises in Kazakhstan includes more than 40 entities created with Belarusian capital, as well as more than 170 dealer network entities. There are 7 joint assembly plants of Belarusian machinery and equipment (MTZ OJSC, Gomselmash OJSC, MAZ OJSC, Bobruiskagromash OJSC, etc.).

There are 49 enterprises with Kazakhstani capital in Belarus, including 13 joint ventures and 36 foreign ones. There are 256 companies with Belarusian participation in Kazakhstan.

The fundamental document in the field of practical development of bilateral relations is the «Roadmap» for the development of bilateral cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Belarus for 2019 — 2020.
