Belarusian food on display in Dubai

MINSK – The exposition of Belarusian food products Belarus. The Taste of Nature was opened during the international food and beverage expo Gulfood 2021 on 22 February. The expo began in Dubai, UAE on 21 February and is believed to be the key event of the year for the world food industry, representatives of the exhibition organization company BelInterExpo of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) told BelTA.

BelCCI Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the UAE Andrei Luchenok, Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom Aleksandr Yakovchits, BelInterExpo Director Yevgeny Vvedensky, Director of the Exporter Services Department of the trade promotion agency Dubai Exports Abdulrahman Alhosany, Senior Manager of the Exporter Services Department at Dubai Exports Mohamed Al Marzooqi, and representatives of the management of Belarusian companies took part in the opening ceremony.

As many as 25 Belarusian food producers are taking part in Gulfood 2021. Their exposition has been organized by BelInterExpo.

The exposition features Belarusian meat products, dairy products, groceries, confectionery, poultry meat products, and products made of eggs. All the products on display are certified for compliance with ISO and Halal standards.

This year's offline exposition is accompanied by an online mirror platform that allows finding the Belarusian pavilion in the expo center, seeing the products on display, and obtaining contact information of Belarusian companies. The exposition is accompanied by an intensive business program. In particular, on 21 February BelCCI Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich met with Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry Majid Saif Al Ghurair. They discussed cooperation between the two chambers of commerce and industry, opportunities for exchanging visits of business delegations, the joint organization of business events, and the participation of Belarusian and UAE companies in international expos and fairs in Belarus and the UAE, including online events.

BelCCI Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich met with Dubai Exports Director General Saed Alawadi. The sides discussed the possibility of signing a memorandum of cooperation between the two organizations. Interaction between the BelCCI and Dubai Exports in the course of organizing exhibitions and business events for the sake of promoting Belarus-UAE trade and economic relations was also discussed during the meeting.

On 22 February a delegation of the Belarusian private sector led by the BelCCI chairman took part in a business briefing arranged by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. A presentation of Belarus and the UAE's economic and investment potentials, export capabilities of Belarusian companies was arranged.

While in the United Arab Emirates the Belarusian delegation is expected to participate in the Gulfood Innovation Summit as well as presentations and negotiations with representatives of retail chains and importers from all over the world.
