MINSK – The exposition “Belarus. The Taste of Nature” is featured at Gulfood 2019, the world's largest annual food & beverages trade show, running in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates on 17-21 February, BelTA learned from the exhibition operator Belinterexpo of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).
The exposition features nine Belarusian companies: Glubokoye Dairy Canning Factory, Lida Milk Plant, Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1, Turov Dairy Industrial Complex, Slonim Meat Processing Plant, Molochny Gostinets company, Dairy Company Novogrudok Gifts, Primemilk factory and Spartak confectionery. These companies have international certificates of conformity with the ISO quality management and food safety requirements. The products they have brought to Dubai have Halal certificates.
The opening ceremony of the Belarusian exposition was attended by Belarus' Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo, Consul General of Belarus to Dubai Igor Bondarev. The program of the Belarusian exposition includes seminars and presentations of domestic products at B2B meetings for businessmen from the UAE. Gulfood Breakfast Briefing organized by the BelCCI jointly with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce examined the development trends in the UAE food sector.
The Belarusian exposition is organized with the support of the BelCCI, the Belarusian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai Chamber of Commerce, the Agriculture and Food Ministry of Belarus, and Belgospishcheprom food industry concern.
“The UAE is the world's third largest re-export market. The country trades with more than 220 countries, and is a key food re-export hub in the Persian Gulf region,” Belinterexpo said.
Gulfood is one of the world's largest food exhibitions. This year it features more than 5,000 exhibitors from 100 countries.
