China helps build 22 social houses in Belarus in 2018-2019

MINSK – Belarus and China have signed an intergovernmental act of acceptance following the completion of the second phase of the social housing construction project implemented with technical and economic assistance of China. The document was signed during the meeting of Belarusian Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.

“Twenty-two houses having 1,854 apartments with the total area of about 118,000 square meters were commissioned in 2018-2019. After two phases of the housing construction project were completed, more than 5,000 people could improving their living conditions. Those are people on the government waiting list for better housing, low-income families,” the ministry noted.

The parties discussed other promising avenues of technical and economic cooperation for the period till 2025, including projects to build a national football stadium and a world-class swimming pool in Minsk, support for the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone and other issues of trade and economic cooperation.

They welcomed meaningful progress achieved in promoting bilateral trade and economic contacts and outlined measures to foster cooperation in 2020.
