Arselon has a high glass transition temperature (Тс> 330 * С), a high decomposition temperature (505 * С) and a range of working temperature in the air from –270 * С to + 400 * С. High temperature resistance allows the use of Arselon materials and products based on it at a temperature of + 250 * C for up to 3 years. At the same time, the product retains strength and elasticity in air, both at high and at low temperatures. Reduced flammability. "Arselon" is resistant to the action of an open flame, does not melt, the oxygen index is not lower than 30%, products based on "Arselon" are not burned when hot metal particles with a temperature of 600-700 * C get. Chemostability. Arselon is highly resistant to chemicals: it does not swell and does not dissolve in organic solvents and acids. Products are moderately stable at temperatures up to 100 0C to the action of diluted inorganic acids and alkalis. Hygroscopicity. Heat-resistant materials have an equilibrium moisture content and a high level of hygroscopicity, comparable to viscose and cotton (10-11%). Linear shrinkage. The linear shrinkage of the Arselon fiber when exposed to high temperatures (450 * C) does not exceed 0.5%, which is an order of magnitude lower than other heat-resistant materials of the aramid class. Coefficient of friction for metal. Arselon has a low coefficient of friction for metal (up to 0.2), which ensures its use in composite materials. Good electrical insulating properties. The ability to stain. Low price level in comparison with other heat-resistant materials of the aramid class. The use of heat-resistant materials "Arselon": • protective clothing for rescue firefighters; • protective clothing and equipment from increased heat exposure, electric arc, acids, alkalis, oil and oil products, general industrial pollution; • filtration of hot gases at the enterprises of the metallurgical, chemical and cement industries; • heat-insulating upholstery of vehicle interiors: airplanes, wagons, cars; • in the production of asbestos-free friction products; • stuffing box packing; • designs of hot air balloons; • electrical insulating materials; • ironing presses.
